Question:
When I click 'Advanced', there is a slider 'Search Distance'. What is it good for, and what values should I use?
Answer:
The search distance controls the size of the empty area around your pattern. The matching games must have no stones at all in the shaded area, except the ones you specified. Also, MasterGo only looks for continuation moves in within this shaded area. Decrease the search distance to find more matching games. Increase it if the move you are interested in is not in the shaded area. The default value is 3, which is a good value in most cases.
